MOUSETRAP IS THE CREATION OF A SINGLE ADVENTURER. JESSE VENTEICHER HAS SPENT MORE THAN 6 YEARS LIVING AND TRAVELING FULL TIME IN VARIOUS TYPES OF ADVENTURE SETUPS. THROUGH THIS EXPERIENCE, HE HAS IDENTIFIED WHAT HE DEEMS MOST IMPORTANT ABOUT A QUALITY CAMPING SETUP AND THE COMMON ANNOYANCES THAT ARISE FROM DAY TO DAY USE OF A LIGHTWEIGHT WEDGE CAMPER. THIS IS HIS TAKE.

IN THIS SITUATION, THINGS LIKE INSULATION, LIGHTING, A COMFORTABLE BED AREA, POWERED CEILING FAN, AND USABLE ROOF STORAGE GO FROM BEING A LUXURY TO A NECESSITY. THAT'S WHY THE MOUSETRAP CAMPER WAS CREATED. THE IDEA WAS TO PRODUCE A CAMPER THAT IS READY TO GO FROM DAY ONE WITHOUT ANY COMPROMISES.”

about the design
the mousetrap v3 is the latest design and is currently AVAILABLE for mid and full sized trucks with 6’-8’ pickup beds. the v3 consists of a welded aluminum frame with a rigid aluminum COMPOSITE exterior skin. the canvas walls are made from two layers of marine fabric with 1” of SYNTHETIC fiber insulation SEWN between the interior and exterior layers. the aluminum frame of the camper is COMPLETELY insulated with foil-lined styrofoam for the maximum insulation value possible for the wall thickness. the interior ceiling and walls are finished with a durable, lightweight material for a CLEAN finished look. every camper sold includes rear barn doors with TINTED GLASS windows, A driver OR passenger side access hatch, a complete insulation package, DIMMABLE interior LED lights, powered roof fan, and an adjustable crossbar roof rack.
the mousetrap UTILIZES a unique folding solid back wall system. the reasons for this are:
it CREATES an EXTREMELY sturdy roof platform. the weight of the roof is supported by a solid front hinge point, two gas struts, and the solid back wall. this is IMPORTANT when you are popped up in windy conditions or have gear stored on the roof.
you can lock the roof in the popped up position. this ALLOWS the weight of the roof to be supported by the folding back wall, making swapping out the gas struts simple and easy. this means you can replace the standard duty lifting struts for a heavy duty set, making opening and closing the roof effortless with up to 250lbs up top.
it just looks cool. having a screened operable glass window and a plumb wall makes the camper feel SUBSTANTIALLY less tent like.
quite possibly the most SPACIOUS wedge camper AVAILABLE
The mousetrap camper was designed WITH comfort and usable living space in mind. when popped up, the overhead CLEARANCE is almost 7’ at the highest point. for MID SIZED MODELS, a 52”X 80” sliding bed platform is standard. the platform slides into the cabover section, creating standing room THROUGHOUT the length of your pickup bed. when the bed platform is deployed, the camper still retains 37.5” of pass through space between the edge of the bed and the back wall. with ample CLEARANCE for foot room, you WON'T have to sacrifice on comfort. most wedge campers are not friendly to those who sleep on their backs. feet bump into the ceiling, and people are forced to sleep corner to corner. mousetrap has solved this problem by modifying the roof's pivot point and adding extra HEIGHT to the cabover section. the results are plenty of foot CLEARANCE even with a 4” mattress loaded up with pillows & blankets. this also means you can leave the bed set up at all times. no need for folding and storing bedding when on the move.
